  •  Looks like David Duchovney's trip to rehab did wonders for his ratings.  Ok, it's probably just because the show is really good, but either way, Showtime is happy and has just greenlighted "Californication" for season 3.  They'll start production on the 12 new episodes next spring.  source
  • Have you seen "Reaper" yet?  Well you should and you'll get a second chance since the CW has officially booked the series for a midseason return.  Starting March 17th, the show will begin airing 13 new episodes in the slot after "90210", taking over after "Privileged" finishes it's first season.  source
  • The Sci Fi Channel has given the go to new series "Caprica", the prequel to their hit series "Battlestar Galactica".  The show will be set 50 years before the "Battlestar" events on the planet of...well, Caprica.  It will star Eric Stoltz, Paula Malcomson, Esai Morales and Polly Walker.  No word yet on when it will air. source
  • "Eleventh Hour" just got the good news!  CBS has decided to pick up the Jerry Bruckheimer series 5 more episodes. The series has managed to average 12 million viewers making it the second most watched show after "The Mentalist".  source

Today's "Thread O' the Day" was brought to us by Passionatic

Last Sunday's episode of The Amazing Race was a doozie to say the least.  We got to watch "Team Superbad" (Dan & Andrew) bumble their way to the pit stop as usual and I'm fairly certain they had Dallas 'n' Mom (Toni) to thank for that.

Poor Dallas made the biggest Amazing Race boo-boo possible and left all of their money and passports in a taxi, leaving them both stranded and having to beg from strangers.  Seems to me that all Dan&Andrew have to do is wait for someone to flub and the million is theirs.

So, who do you think will reach the final finish line first?  Dan & Drew? Ken & Tina?  Nick and Starr? Let everyone know by heading over to the "Thread O' the Day" and talking about it!

Bones the BlewA new installment here at Coffeerooms on TV, highlighting a great TV related thread in our forums and getting that good ol' fashion discussion going!

Today's thread is MTJ's post on last weeks episode of Bones called "The Bones that Blew".

MTJ thinks it's time the writers find some way to get Zack out of the nuthouse and that the mystery portion of last weeks episode lacked some wow factor.  However, and I agree, she's glad to see Max (Ryan O'Neal) back in the mix.  Incase you aren't aware, he's daddy Bones, the one who was in jail for murder awhile back.

So what do you think?  Agree with MTJ or disagree?  Let it be known and go visit the thread!

Marijuana Nation.png
"If a stranger walked up to you and poured pebble like seeds into your hand and then said, 'plant them and your harvest can be made into rope, cloth or paper. It could help the sick or intoxicate.' What would you say?  Would you keep the seeds or chuck them away?"

This is the question Lisa Ling asks us in tonight's "Explorer: Marijuana Nation" on The National Geographic channel as she investigates both sides of the debate.

I had the opportunity to preview this documentary before it aired and no matter which side of the issue you're on, it's absolutely worth watching.  Both informative and fascinating,  the documentary takes us deep inside the world of illegal and legal marijuana growing, selling and using.

We get to watch Ling travel by helicopter with law enforcement as they discover a secret pot farm in the Sequoia National Forest and hear the dangers of a discovery like this.  She also visits with Mark Emery, the "Prince of Pot", who takes her to one of the largest grow houses, located in British Columbia, and has never been seen by the public before.

We also get to see a family farm in northern CA that's been there for years and how one man may have single-handedly helped the city of Oakland by implementing multiple medicinal marijuana shops and boosting the economy.

Don't miss this fantastic documentary tonight on The National Geographic Channel at 10pm eastern.  It's definitely worth a watch.

  • In the age of remakes, it's only natural "Fame!" gets it's chance, right?  Well, like it or not, it's gonna happen.  And what's a remake without a reunion?  It's not what you think though, Kelsey Grammar and Bebe Neuwirth (you may remember them as Dr. Frasier Crane and Lillith from "Cheers" and "Frasier") will be staring in the film.  Grammar as the orchestra conductor and Neuwirth has a dance instructor.  Also joining them, funny gal Megan Mullally ("Will and Grace").  source
  • Another movie rumor in the works, "Rome" is getting ready to wrap it up on the big screen says creator Bruno Heller.  This is great news for any fans who felt like they didn't get a good conclusion when the series ended.  However, I'm not quick to get excited as I'm still waiting for my "Deadwood" big screen finale (which is still floating in the rumor mill).  Here's hoping! source
  • HBO has a new series in the works called "Boardwalk Empire".  Directed by Martin Scorsese and potentially starring Steve Buscemi, I think it's safe to say this promises to be a doozie.  Buscemi would play the role of Nucky Johnson, a "cunning businessman who runs a liquor distribution ring at the onset of Prohibition."   source

Zach BraffNew found endeavors have lured Zach Braff away from Scrubs, and he's confirmed the news that he'll soon be leaving the show. After years of playing the clumsy Dr. John 'J.D.' Dorian on the series, Braff claims that the eighth season of the hit comedy will indeed be his last. The rumors regarding his departure from the program have plagued fans ever since the story circulated. Now that Braff has finally proven the tales himself, what's next?

"I want to take piano lessons, I want to study at university, I want to travel, I want to do other parts, make another movie. So it was time to branch out and start a new chapter," said Braff.

Apparently, Braff isn't alone with his decision. Scrubs creator Bill Lawrence and co-star Judy Reyes have also expressed their intent on leaving the show. Many might think that next year's eighth season will be the last of the Emmy-winning show. However, the comedy and drama of Scrubs retains the possibility of the show's continuity.
