Chapter 10
Sheridan sat outside on her balcony staring up into the
sky. ‘It such a beautiful night’ she thought to herself as she stretched her arms back.
She heard a noise and turned around abruptly. She saw the
shadow of a man she rushed forward hoping it was her love. She got closer and Christian Hotchkiss came into view.
“Christian! I wasn’t expecting you to come tonight!”
“No, you weren’t.”
“Have you been fighting?”
“Yes.”
“That isn’t like you Christian.”
“No it isn’t. Listen Sheridan there was a fight tonight
and Ethan......well......a knife.....”
“Fight? The fight happened.......Luis! What about Luis?”
Anger swept over Christian’s face. “HE KILLED YOUR NEPHEW!!”
He screamed as he ran out of her room.
Sheridan stood still for a moment not believing her ears.
“No......no.....you’re lying!!!” she screamed.
“He isn’t lying.” Luis said walking in from the balcony.
Sheridan turned around at the sound of his voice. She ran
over and started pounding her fists on his chest, “KILLER.......Killer.......killer!!!” she said collapsing into
his arms sobbing uncontrollably.
Luis just clutched her tightly, “I didn’t mean to kill
him. I didn’t want to. He killed my brother and I just lost my sense of everything.”
Sheridan looked up at him with remorse. She didn’t know
that he had killed his brother.
Luis understood, “I thought you knew.” She shook her head
and put her head back on his chest.
“I didn’t come to tell you this I just wanted to see you
before I went to the police.”
“No!” she yelled.
“I have too.”
“I won’t let you! Stay with me!”
Luis finally gave in, “I’ll stay with you forever.”
“How can we be together? Our whole world is crashing around
us.”
“Then I’ll take you away where no one can get to us.”
Sheridan just slowly nodded her head and fell into his
arms. “I love you.” she whispered.
“I love you too.”
Luis slowly picked her up and carried her over to her bed
and gently laid her down. She pulled him down, by the collar of his coat, on top of her.
“Are you sure?” he whispered touching his forehead to hers.
“Yes.” she whispered as she leaned her lips up to his for
a kiss.
