Chapter 9
The sky over Harmony grew dark earlier on this night as
the men began to gather at Lighthouse Park.
Antonio, Miguel, and Hank stood around in the park waiting
for the others to show. At that same moment, Ethan, Christian, and Chuck showed up.
“We thought you’d chickened out!” Antonio growled.
“You wish!” Chuck boasted.
“Well, then lets do this!” Miguel said.
The men started to inch closer to each other.
“Stop!!” Luis said running up to the group.
“Luis, you came! Come over here and help us out!” Antonio
said.
“No! Don’t fight this is childish and stupid!” Luis said
pushing Antonio back.
“Hey Tony! Keep your brother under control!” Christian
said.
“Hey, why don’t you shut up!” yelled Hank.
“Enough stalling around!” Ethan said pushing forward and
pulling out his pocket knife.
Antonio countered and pulled out his knife as well. The
two men jumped on each other and started punching and wrestling around.
“Stop them!” Luis yelled. No one would listen to his cries.
Thats when it happened. His screams pierced the night sky.
All the men stood still as they watched Antonio’s lifeless
body fall to the ground. Ethan stood in amazement holding the bloody knife in his hands.
“NO!” Luis screamed as he charged at Ethan. He picked up
Antonio’s knife off the ground and stabbed it into Ethan’s stomach.
Ethan’s body fell to the ground as Luis dropped the bloody
knife.
Police Sirens began to blare as all of the others still
alive began to run away. Luis dropped to his knees and stared at the two lifeless bodies. He stared into the night
sky.
“SHERIDAN!!!!!” He screamed as loud as he could and dropped
his head into his hands.
“Come Luis! We have to get out of here!” Miguel said pulling
Luis away.
Silence fell over the park as everyone had scrambled away
leaving two men dead.
This being the beginning of the end.
