Gwen folded up the letter and stuck it in he pocket as
she walked into to Hotchkiss mansion.
“Gwen, honey! Where have you been? I’ve been worried!”
Rebecca strided over to Gwen and kissed the air by her cheeks.
“I decided to take a sailing trip with a new friend and
I had the most wonderful time Mother!” Gwen said as they to her bedroom.
“A new friend? Well, who could that be? I haven’t seen
anyone new at the country club?” Rebecca thought a moment.
Gwen sat down at her vanity and started playing with her
hair.
“Hank Bennett. He’s such a gentleman and he’s kind and
generous.”
“Oh but darling, theirs still a chance for you and Ethan!!
You should never give up on that I know that gold digging tramp Theresa got her hands on Ethan but it’s only a
matter of time and a little action before you’re the one that is with Ethan!”
“Mother now....” Gwen got ready to protest.
Rebecca cut her off, “Now their is no need for you to get
involved with a Bennett. You’re far more better than that.”
Gwen was enraged, “Listen mother, I like Hank. He’s such
a good person. By the way theirs NO CHANCE that me and Ethan will ever be together again. He made his decision
and although it was hard to deal with I learned to except it as should you!”
Rebecca was speechless.
“And another thing, for some odd reason, I’m beginning
to think that it’s not so terrible that I didn’t marry Ethan because Hank makes me see things differently like
theirs more to life than money or social classes.”
“If you would excuse me I would appreciate it if you would
leave.”
Rebecca was so startled that she walked out.
Hank walked into the Harmony PD whistling away in the best
mood he’s been in a long time.
He walked to his brothers, Chief Sam Bennett, desk. He
sat in a chair and leaned back still whistling reading over a few files he had come to pick up.
Sam thought Hank had gone off the deep end!!
“I didn’t know you were so happy to be reading over your
new FBI case?”
“What is with you little bro?” Sam exclaimed as he sat
down with his coffee.
“Nothing! I’m just having a good day that is all!” Hank
boasted.
“No way....you’re up to something I know you! You’re never
in this good of a mood unless you’re cooking up something!”
Sam thought a moment. “Their is someone isn’t there?”
Hank just smiled widely putting his hands behind his head
and placing his feet on Sam’s desk.
“Is is Beth?” Sam said pushing Hank’s feet off.
“Beth?!?! No, this woman is amazing and I have no idea
whats going to happen if anything happens, which if I have anything to do with it it will.”
“Well..come on bro who is she?”
Hank leaned forward, “Gwen Hotchkiss.”
“What?!? Hank you’ve got to be kidding me!! This is crazy!
She’s way out of your league.”
“Are you saying I’m not good enough for her?” Hank said
feeling his good mood beginning to slip.
“No.....no way bro it’s just I want you to watch yourself.
I’m just watching out for you. I don’t want to see you get hurt!” Sam said.
“Listen, I’ve got it under control!!!” calming himself,
“Sam, I like her. Please support me on this?”
“All right Hank, but please promise me you’ll watch yourself.”
Sam said hesitantly.
“I promise bro!”
Hank walked out of the police station with a weird feeling.
He thought to himself, “What if Sam is right? What if Gwen
thinks of me as nothing but friends?”
Disappointed Hank walked off to run some errands.
