Chapter 8
“Ethan where are you taking me?” Theresa said as Ethan
drug her down the street.
“No questions! Just don’t let go of my hand!” Ethan said
mischievously.
Theresa was blindfolded and Ethan had the most romantic
surprise prepared for her.
They entered his apartment, unknowingly to Theresa, and
he sat her down on the coffee table. He let go of her hand and left her sitting there.
“Ethan? Ethan, where did you go?”
“Take off your blindfold.” She heard him say.
She slowly took off the blindfold and dropped it to the
ground.
She gasped at the beauty that surrounded her. The whole
room was decked out in candles lit all over the place and so was the coffee table she was sitting on. Pink roses,
her favorite, were laying all over the place. Ethan walked over to her dressed up in a crisp tuxedo.
He held out his hand and she took it with so much grace
that Ethan just wanted to carry her away to paradise.
It was about 6 months later, their relationship had been
slowly blossoming into the true love of his life. Neither of them had left New York. Ethan was getting his prosecution
lawyer career all organized. He even had won his last few cases.
Theresa was doing wonderful as well. She was working day
in and day out with Resa. It had become a booming success. She was even getting ready to expand into
Paris next month.
Theresa looked up at Ethan and just smiled, “You’re too
much for me Crane!”
“Well, I told you that you deserve the best and as always
you look the best too.”
Theresa was decked out in a long white gown that showed
off her dark complexion. The back was completely bare. Her long beautiful laid in curly tendrils around her shoulders.
“Thank you.” She smiled letting go of his hands and looking
around the room.
“Wait, I have one more surprise.” He said rushing away.
Theresa watched him rush into the other room like a 7 year
old on Christmas Day.
She couldn’t shake her nagging feeling. The same feeling
that had been bugging her for last month, “I have found the true love of my life in a man who’s taken. I don’t
know how much longer I can’t let this last. I either need to know that he’s never going to leave me or that he’ll
stay with me forever.”
Gwen clutched the silk sheet as she opened her eyes to
the early morning glow that shown through her window.
She sighed dreamily as she rolled over on her back and
remembered the night before.
‘He’s so gentle and loving.’ She thought to herself.
She started to get up out of bed when a pair of strong
arms pulled her back down.
“You’re not going anywhere just yet!! It’s still to early.”
Hank said clutching her tightly.
“Oh darn, looks like I won’t be getting up out of bed just
yet!” Gwen said sarcastically as she fell back into Hank’s arms. “Looks like I’ll just have to take a day off work!”
Hank looked at her with wide eyes, “Are you serious Baby?
You never miss work!”
“Well I think I wanna stay at this beautiful home and be
with you for today. I mean after all last night was pretty special to me.” Gwen said kissing him on the forehead.
“Now thats the answer I wanted to hear!” Hank said kissing
her passionately. “I am worried though. Whats going to happen?”
“I don’t know my love. Thats what we have to think about.”
Gwen said. Then she looked up at Hank thoughtfully, “Tomorrow we’ll figure it out!”
They fell back into a heart stopping kiss.
Julian Crane sat in his office in his library when the
phone rang.
“Julian Crane.” He hissed into the phone.
“Julian! Long time no see.” Jonathan Hotchkiss drowned
on the other line.
“Jonathon so nice to hear from you!”
“Yes . I have some concerns I wanted to discuss with you.”
“Yes?”
“This Crane-Hotchkiss merger should have been put in affect
already. I feel it’s time that we take action and get Gwen and Ethan married as soon as possible.”
“Well, Jonathon my son has been in New York for the past
months doing God knows what.”
“Well, my Gwendolyn has been attending to business in Paris
but what does that matter?” Jonathon said forcefully.
“It doesn’t at all. So when shall we press for this wedding?”
“Soon! Very soon.”
“I will get a hold of Ethan first thing in the morning.”
Julian said hanging up the phone.
“Ethan, I don’t how much more of your surprises I can take.”
Theresa purred as she rolled onto her side looking up at Ethan.
“I promise you that this breakfast in bed is the last surprise!”
He said as he sat the tray down in front of her and sat across from her.
“Mmmm. God I love grapes.” She said popping one in her
mouth.
Ethan took the opportunity and kissed her quickly. She
giggled slightly and shoved a grape into his mouth.
“Oh don’t let Rose eat the grapes!” Theresa laughed as
she picked up the tiny Persian white kitten Ethan had surprised her with.
Ethan just stared lovingly at Theresa as she sat and stroked
the soft fur of the kitten.
“My God Theresa I lo.....”
*Ring Ring*
Ethan reached over for the phone very annoyed by the timing.
“Hello?”
“Ethan, my boy. How are you?” Julian said on the other
line.
“I’m good Father. How is Mother?”
“Oh Ivy is just fine.”
“Well, then is their anything wrong Father?”
“No, no. Nothing. I was just calling to tell you that I
need you home in exactly one week. The Crane jet will pick you up from the airport.”
“All right Father. Do I have business to attend too?”
“Well, I guess you could call it business. It’s your wedding
day. No need to worry all of the arrangements are made.”
Ethan choked on grape and stared right into Theresa worried
eyes, “My WHAT?!?!”
