Chapter 2
Sheridan grinned at her nephew's shocked expression.
He was surprised to see her; she hadn't told anyone she was coming back. Heck, she didn't even know it until she
had gotten on the plane. "Hi, Ethan! Aren't you going to invite me in?" she inquired. Ethan just stood
there, dumbfounded, with disbelief on his face, until he broke out into a huge grin and hugged Sheridan.
"So what brings my favorite aunt by after so long? Have you finally decided to stay in Harmony?" Ethan
asked, after letting Sheridan go and inviting her in to his apartment.
Sheridan smiled at Ethan's comment. "Ethan, I'm your only aunt," she said, chuckling. "But thank
you for the compliment. Where's Theresa?"
The fact that Sheridan had avoided his last question didn't go unnoticed by Ethan. But he just smiled and replied,
"You just missed her. She went out shopping. But don't worry, she'll be back soon."
Sheridan saw love in Ethan's eyes as he talked about Theresa. She was glad he went against Alistair, Julian,
and the Hotchkisses so he could marry the woman he truly loved. And then there was Theresa's family. Pilar was
happy for them, but Sheridan could just imagine Luis's reaction when he had heard the news… She
shook her head. She had to forget about Luis Lopez-Fitzgerald. After all, he was the reason she had left Harmony
in the first place. "So, Ethan, tell me more about the new law firm you opened up while I make us some coffee."
Ethan thought he had seen sadness in his aunt's eyes after he mentioned Theresa, but it was quickly replaced
by curiosity. "Oh no you don't, Sheridan," he replied. "You must have had a long flight. How about
I make the coffee and tell you about my new law firm, while you sit and rest here on the couch. Deal?" He
extended his hand.
Sheridan pretended to be in deep thought over his proposition. "Ok, Ethan. Deal." She shook his hand
before bringing him in for another hug.
"I've missed you so much, Sheridan."
"I've missed you, too, Ethan. Now where's that coffee?"
"Coming right up." |
