Chapter Four
Sheridan reached over to touch Luis and opened her eyes when
she came up empty. Pulling the white satin sheet around her chest, she sat up and looked around the room. She
noticed the balcony doors were still open and the gentle ocean breeze blowing the curtains. Luis was leaning on
the balcony railing looking out at the beautiful blue ocean.
He was wearing a pair of blue jeans that molded to his skin and nothing else. He looked so good. The sun glistened
off his dark skin and the wind gently blue his hair. She couldn't remember him have ever looked sexier, well except
for last night. She smiled a secret smile remembering what else had happened last night. Luis turned as if sensing
she was looking at him and her breath caught in her throat. "Good morning, beautiful."
"Morning. You didn't wake me."
"Nah," he said walking toward her. "I figured you needed your sleep."
"You did huh?"
"Yeah, I kinda wore you out last night." He grinned that devilish grin of his and placed a soft, gentle
kiss on her lips.
Sheridan groaned when he pulled away and sat down on the bed beside her. "So are you going to tell me where
we are now?"
He laughed a deep, rich laugh. The sound echoed through her body. "I guess I could do that. We're in The
Caymans."
"Oh wow. You know I've never been here before."
"I know. Ethan told me. That's why I brought you here. I figured we could see it for the first time together."
Sheridan sighed. Her husband was so romantic. "That sounds absolutely perfect."
"I would have taken you to Spain for our honeymoon, but I figured I'd save that until..." He looked at
her and grinned. "until after the baby is born."
"You.... you know?" She asked in a bewildered voice.
He smiled. "Of course, I know. Did you think I wouldn't catch on to the fact that every morning for the
past three weeks, like clockwork, you've run to the bathroom? I'm a cop, remember? I tend to notice things."
Tears glistened in her eyes. "But you didn't say anything. Why?"
"I was waiting for you to tell me. I figured you'd do it last night, but then I guess you got a little sidetracked."
He winked at her, causing a blush to creep up her neck. He placed a hand on her stomach and looked into her bright
blue eyes. "Are you upset that I ruined your surprise?"
She grinned at him, then placed a hand on his cheek. "No, I'm not upset. How could I be upset about anything?
We're married. We're honeymooning in paradise and we're expecting a baby. I'm the happiest woman in the world."
He gently pushed her back onto the bed and covered her body with his own. Then he leaned his head down and whispered
against her lips. "And you've made me the happiest man in the world."
Then he proceeded to show her all over again.
The man watched as the two lovebirds kissed. He would
let them have their fun for now. But once they left the safety of the hotel, he would make his move. It's not
that he wanted to hurt them, he just didn't have a choice. He had a job to do and he'd never left a job unfinished.
He smiled as the two continued to get lost in each other. Too bad, he thought shaking his head, too bad one
of them had to die.
