"RIA!!" Sheridan yelled at the short blond who was
exit her blood red convertible. She was wearing slightly flared jeans and a cream sweater. She smiled as she made
her way up the walkway and towards Sheridan. "You look absolutely splendid."
"As do you dear. What do ya think of the new wheels, pretty snazzy, huh?" Adriana said, hugging her
friend.
"I didn’t think the government paid that well." Sheridan joked.
"So, this party’s gonna be big, huh? I haven’t seen you this excited about my visit in a long time."
Adriana said, entering the cottage.
"Yeah, well, no one knows who put it on. Plus it’s stag only."
"Nice touch. Hoping to end up with anyone in particular? Namely that Lopez-Fitzgerald guy?" Adriana
said, raising her eyebrows.
"No. How many times do I have to tell you, I’m not interested in him." Sheridan defensively said.
"Is this still about the using you thing? ‘Cause if it is, I got something to say. Maybe you didn’t hear
the whole thing. You said you came in during the middle of his phone call, so how do you know he wasn’t like giving
examples of what people might think his motives are? You know, you never did have good hearing in school, you probably
misheard him."
"No, I don’t think that explains it. Father and Julian seem to think that’s what he meant."
"And you trust them? Hell, they’re probably behind it. If they’re pushing it so vigorously, wouldn’t that
tip you off? Maybe they planned it so to you it’d seem like he meant it, but in actuality he was telling them how
he wouldn’t behave? You never can be to sure with those two."
"You could be your right Ria. I’ll just put it behind me."
"You bet your bottom dollar I’m right. So, where do I stay? Up at the mansion?" Adriana asked, changing
the mood of the conversation.
"If you want to. I was gonna camp out there too."
"’Kay, that sounds good. How’s that scheming brother of yours? And Ivy of course, how is she?"
"Both fine, still hating each other." Sheridan laughed. "I’m so happy your here. I really haven’t
had a girlfriend to talk to."
"Yeah, well that goes for both of us. We can stay up tonight and catch up. But first, I’m hungry. Let’s
go get something to eat, unless you’ve learned to cook, which I doubt."
"Hey! That’s mean. How about the country club?" Sheridan pouted.
"Sounds good to me. C’mon, I’ll drive." Adriana said, giving an evil look before running out the door.
"I’m gonna die." Sheridan muttered while grabbing her keys and following her friend. |
